To promote the attraction to domestic or abroad tourists, the Government of Karimun regency, Riau Islands Province built Karimun Expo buliding. This building was established as a center for tourism promotion and used since January 2011.

Karimun Expo is located not far from the international port of Tanjung Balai Karimun.

Natural attractions, culinary tours and crafts on display at Karimun Expo that is also a building of local and national crafts council (Dekranasda).

Beach attractions, such as Pelawan Beach, Pongkar Beach and Telunas Beach exhibited in a picture frame, including hot springs attraction in Tanjung Hutan, District of Buru is projected as one of the leading tourist attraction by the local government.

Culinary attractions on display include Karimun typical food, like ''bangkit'' cakes, lunkhead seaweed, ''laksa'', prawn crackers, fish crackers mackerel and other varieties snacks.

Head of Industry and Trade of Karimun regency, Sudarmadi said, Karimun Expo will be a center for tourism promotion and small and medium enterprises.

''We hope to increase tourist visits and sales of goods of small and medium business products also increased,'' he said.
