Everyone would be happy if their children can learn in school, ranging from basic education to university. Any effort will be made so that children can learn to gain knowledge in formal educational institutions, they are willing to heavily indebted to children in school.

Including for the citizens of Karimun regency, Riau Islands province are now busy looking for a cost to enroll the child in the new admissions school 2011-2012, both the primary school level (SD), secondary school (SMP) and upper secondary school (SMA) .

Issue of costs is a burden to be borne by the parents every year in the admission of new students, ranging from the cost of procurement of school uniforms to the cost of buying textbooks for children who will attend school.

Dian, a resident of Tanjung Balai Karimun said at least need the money amounting to Rp3 million to send their two children who will enter elementary school and junior high school.

''For the school uniforms we have to spend money amounting to Rp750.000, not to mention to buy books and other expenses,'' she said.

For those residents who have sufficient income, the cost for the procurement of uniforms was not a problem. But, for the poor to be a burden and it is very difficult to cover the cost to send their children.

Government policies that eliminate education money was not yet able to relieve the poor, the evidence they still must figure out how to get the money to enroll their children to school.

''I had to pawn jewelry in Service Pawn to buy uniforms,'' said Rahim, the other resident.

The high cost of procurement of uniform requirements also affect the turnover Pawnshop increased two-fold compared to normal days.

''Pawnshops Turnover increased by almost one hundred per cent compared to normal days. Many residents who pawned jewelry, such as gold or valuables such as motor vehicles,'' said a pawnshop employee in Tanjung Balai Karimun.

Some poor people admitted owing money to a year to buy their children school uniforms.

''We do not have the money to pay the debt,''said Muslim, the other resident.

Governments, should help poor people who need the cost for school uniforms. Social assistance provided by local governments considered not to touch the most poor residents.
