The political crisis in some countries in the Middle East and the economic crisis in Europe affect the income of PT Pelindo I Tanjung Balai Karimun, Karimun regency, Riau Islands Province.

General Manager of PT Pelindo I Branch Tanjung Balai Karimun, Agastiyan Kenanga Bumi said the economic crisis in Europe and the political crisis in Middle East affect the company's revenue from the services sector in the port of ship to ship transfers.

''The number of foreign tankers at the port of ship to ship transfers declined since the last three months as the economic and political crises in some countries in Europe and the Middle East,''he said.

According Agastiyan, generally tankers are moored in the port anchor ship to ship transfers from European countries and the Middle East. The owner ship of the countries on two continents is reduced shipping activity due to the influence the economic and political situation in the country.

''We are concerned that this year's revenue target of Rp22 billion is not met, until now we had recorded a revenue of 9 billion,''he said.

He said the number of ships anchoring in the port of ship to ship transfer is very dependent on the economic stability of oil-producing countries in the world.

In early 2011, the number of ships anchoring increased with earnings of about Rp1, 5 billion to 2 billion per month, after which it declined and continued to decline until the period of October 2011.

''We expect global economic conditions return to stable revenue targets are met by the end of the year,''he said.
