Singapore Reclamation Not Changing Indonesia's Territorial

Western Fleet Commander (Pangamabar) Rear Admiral Hari Bowo said reclamation in Singapore has not changing on Indonesia's territorial boundaries.

''Coastal reclamation in Singapore not changing our state boundaries. Borders of a state not based on physical, but is determined based on the latitude and longitude (coordinate points),'' Hari Bowo said as reported kepri.antaranews.com site.

Hari Bowo said that when he visit to Tanjung Balai Karimun, Karimun regency, Riau Islands Province on Wednesday (2/3).

According to Hari, Singapore has been acknowledged since the beginning of the territorial boundaries of Indonesia. So, the addition of Singapore's land after reclamation will not change the coordinates points of border between the two countries.

About the plan of Karimun regency government that would dredge the navigation channel, Hari also said not affect Indonesia's territorial boundaries.

''There is no influence. Physical may shift, but not longitude and latitude,''he asserted.

Hari Bowo visit to Karimun to review the readiness of the staff of securing the border regions, particularly the efforts of border violations by foreign parties as well as law enforcement at sea.

Hari arriving in Karimun by plane accompanied by the Navy's Main Base Commander (Lantamal) IV Tanjungpinang First Admiral Djoko Teguh Wahoyo.
