Karimun, Riau Islands, - The implementation of free trade zone status in some parts of the island of Karimun Besar, Karimun, Riau Islands province only benefit employers, said Zainal Azman of LMB.

Datuk Azman as Commander of the Regional Executive Board of the Young Warriors of the United Malays (LMB) in Tanjung Balai Karimun, Friday, confirmed that Karimun FTZ benefits employers and do not provide benefits for the citizens of the community principle.

Azman said that employers have to invest more in facilities. However, citizens do not enjoy the double effect of the implementation of FTZ as the promise of local government.

"Double effect of the rise of the economy through the business community with the presence of derivatives investors in the FTZ do not seem real. The only entrepreneurs who enjoy the benefits of a subcontractor of the investor," he said.

In fact, he said, Regent of Karimun after FTZ inaugurated by the President in 2009 promising that the business community will grow from one end to the Karimun Besar Island as a result of the implementation of FTZ.

"Local government should encourage community economic growth by capturing the business opportunities in the FTZ," he said.

Regarding the labor absorptive capacity in companies in the FTZ, according to him, is still far from expectations.

"Our observations, that a subcontractor company is still recruiting workers from outside, although only the ordinary laborer. Role of the concerned organizations in preparing the workforce needs of investors is also minimal, as well as supervision in the field," he said.

Chairman Contact of Farmers and Fishermen Mainstay of Karimun (KTNA) Amirullah also said that the FTZ application of the principle of not providing benefits to farmers and ranchers.

"Should farmers and ranchers also feel the benefits of FTZ. But unfortunately, the need for a vegetable or chicken for companies in the FTZ are imported from Singapore," he said.

He said that KTNA be sent a letter to local governments associated with the lack of positive impact for the FTZ.

"We asked local governments to evaluate the extent of travel and the principle of FTZ benefits to society," he said.
