Director of Integrated One Stop Services and Public Relations Board for Concession (BP) Batam, Dwi Djoko Wiwoho on Friday, said the eight companies are from Singapore, Malaysia, India, America, Germany, and South Karea.
"The average company is interested in the field of electronics. There are also some who are interested in shipping," said Djoko.
He said that in 2012 BP Batam is actually more likely to conduct a campaign to Asia, especially East Asia after the crisis in Europe and America do not get better.
"But it turns out, American and European companies are still interested in investing in Batam. It's something exciting for Batam," he said.
He hoped that countries of the Americas and Europe still choose Batam as a major investment
"Although our main target countries in Asia but still will do the promotion to the two regions, although its intensity did not like the Asia region," said Djoko.
BP Batam this year will gain promotion to the few countries with a value of Rp 7, 5 billion, much bigger than last year which is only Rp1, 5 billion.
BP targets in Batam is able to pick up as many as 100 foreign investors to trade and free port zone of Batam.
