Two cargo ships, Sampurna Sejati GT 214, the Indonesian-flagged collided with super cargo ship in the waters of the Phillips Strait near Karimun Regency, Riau Islands province on Friday (3/2) morning.
There were no casualties in the incident, but the loss is estimated at Rp1, 5 billion of the value of ship and cargo.
Navy base in Tanjung Balai Karimun declare the entire ship's crew were rescued by search and rescue teams who perform the evacuation.
"The crew all survived and had been evacuated by a team of Search and Rescue (SAR)," said Tanjung Balai Karimun Navy Base Commander, Marine Lieutenant Colonel (P) Sawa in Tanjung Balai Karimun, Friday.
The rescue operation led by the Navy Base Officer Sea Captain (P) Agus Yunianto using marine safety patrol boat, Sea Rider.
The position of the event at 103.3361 longitude and north latitude 1008.885.
The crew had to swim Sampurna Sejati plunging from a leaking ship after the collision incident.
When the rescue process, the position of the hull was half submerged in water.
Sampurna Sejati is a cargo ship that departs from Jurong, Singapore destination port of Tanjung Balai Karimun.
As a result of the incident, most of the crew suffered minor injuries and received treatment at local hospitals.
