SAR Team looking for Tugboat Drowning Victim

The SAR team is still looking for two victims were lost due to sinking of the tugboat HJP-01 GT 19 in the waters of the Pintu Strait, Lingga Regency, Riau Islands Province on Sunday (8 / 1) at 21.00 pm.

"The team was at the Pintu Strait waters, until now we still conduct a search of two victims who were declared missing," said Head of the National SAR Agency of Indonesia (Basarnas) Tanjungpinang, Bambang Subagyo as reported by kepri.antaranews.com in Tanjungpinang Tuesday.

Bambang said, tugboat HJP-01 sank a large wave hit when pulling barge Singa Besar 17 carrying heavy equipment and pelling pipes from Tanjungpinang to Dabo, Lingga.

"Tugboat which is still tied to the barge sank in the sea surface," said Bambang.

According to him, the number of tugboat crew and the barge as many as seven people, four were in the barge and three are in the tugboat.

When an accident, five people managed to save himself and two people missing, on behalf of Kusnan (the crew) and Muslim (captain).

"Both victims are residents Tanjungpinang missing," he said.

Large waves and strong winds, according to him, blocking the process of finding missing victims, in addition to heavy rain which flushed the Riau Islands since last three days.

"The team is also difficult to make dives to search for victims trapped inside the expected tugboat," he said. (source)
