Beirut - UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, called for support for human rights and added that the killing of an Iranian scientist is a terrorist act.
Ban Ki-moon, in a press conference in Beirut on Saturday, underlined that the murders of ordinary people or scientists are unacceptable and must be condemned, as stated IRNA / OANA.
He said, Lebanon is a country with a high level of effectiveness in the region, adding that the country is an important player in the establishment of peace and stability in the Middle East.
Secretary-General continued, Lebanon has an important position for him and the United Nations.
He said, it is essential to maintain peace and stability in Lebanon the day-by-day more clearly and that is why he has chosen Lebanon as the first country on a tour to the region.
Referring to the current situation in Syria and the Arab League initiative to resolve the crisis in Syria, the UN secretary general underlined that he is watching closely developments in Syria and supports Arab League efforts and initiative in this concern.
Referring to the role of the military in southern Lebanon, he underlined that he was glad that the Lebanese army tried to keep the peace in his own country along with UNIFIL forces (H-AK).
