After practice, Sharapova told reporters, an ankle injury will not interfere with his performance. The Russian also said, the injury suffered by its competitors such as defending champion Kim Clijsters, Serena Williams, and Caroline Wozniacki will not affect to it.
"I chose to perform at the first Grand Slam in a healthy condition, instead of thinking must play in many games. For me, health is very important," said 24-year-old, explaining his decision to cancel the show in Melbourne.
Sharapova first appeared at Melbourne Park in 2002 while still a junior. Six years later, then this glamorous tennis player can be the best in women's singles number.
