Police Assign Suspect of Singaporean's Wife Murder

Police Karimun, Riau Islands province assign Aris aka Agus Hendro Prasetyo as a murder suspect Wati Setiawati - Singapore citizen's wife, Ang Boon Hwa - who was found dead Sunday at his home in New Orland Housing, Bukit Senang, Tanjung Balai Karimun.

"After examining the witnesses and gather evidence, we assign Aris aka Agus Hendro Prasetyo as a suspect  in murder of Wati Setiawati (37) and his son, Winson aka Vinsen (12)," said Chief of Karimun Police Adjunct Senior Commissioner Benyamin Sapta on Wednesday.

Benyamin said Aris is a construction worker who worked Wati's home in the New Orland Housing.

"The suspect killed the victim because it hurt," he said.

He said that Narti (Aris's girlfriend) had secured not named as a suspect because it is not involved in the murder case.

"Boarding room where Winson's body was found is not Narty's home, but Aris's home. So, Narti we ask for information only in the capacity as a witness," he said.

Police said, the killing started from Wati coming to her house being built in the New Orland Housing, Saturday (12/11) at around 16:30 pm.

Arriving home, the victim's rage against Aris as many building materials are missing.

Aris felt hurt and then hit the victim with a wooden so that the victim slumped to the side of the tub in the tummy, while the suspect was out looking for a rope which is then wrapped around the victim's neck, and then override the victim's back with a bucket containing ceramic and stone.

At around 20:00 pm, the suspect picked the victim's son, Winson in Sidorejo Indah housing and then took him to a boarding house in Puakang, Tanjung Balai Karimun.

He then strangled the victim's neck and head covered with short pants and hit him to the floor repeatedly.

After the victim's neck and legs were tied and put into a blue plastic bag and put back into the black bag.

Winson's body was found in a boarding room Tuesday, around 12:30 pm, or about 1.5 hours after the suspect was arrested in room 101 Wisma Balai Indah.

"We also seized several items of evidence for proof in this case," said Police Chief.

Evidence seized, including a wooden along 1 meter, 2 green and yellow rope one meter long, one white bucket containing shards of pottery and a wallet containing money Rp75.000 and 41 Singapore dollars.

Then, a unit of handphone Nokia N75, 1 HP Flexi, one laptop Acer brand and a motorcycle Honda Vario BP 2932 knockout victims taken away by the suspect.

"The suspect alleged violation of Article 340 in conjunction with Article 338 in conjunction with Article 365 of murder planned KUHPidana, then Article 80 paragraph 3 of Law No23 of 2002 on Child Protection," he said.

Meanwhile, the suspect confessed to killing Wati because of being offended.

"I am hurt by being scolded and accused of taking ceramics," he said.

Regarding Winson, Ar admitted, "He brought me to the place of boarding. I panicked because she kept crying and asking to go home in order to find his mother."
