South Korean Explore Economic Cooperation in Batam

Gimje of City Government, Jeonbuk Province, South Korea explore cooperation in the economic field with the industrial city, Batam, Riau Islands Province, Indonesia.

Gimje City Government's commitment to working together with Batam visible from Gimje government delegation's visit to Batam City government on Wednesday (3/8).

Site kepri.antaranews.com reported, Gimje City Government delegation, South Korea accepted Batam Mayor Ahmad Dahlan. The two delegations discussed the plan of cooperation in tourism, industry, trade, investment, education and agriculture.

Gimje city which is famous as the city agrocultural will share the experience with Batam as an industrial city, especially Batam very strategic location and near to Singapore.

Batam City Government welcomed the plan of cooperation offered by the government Gimje which is expected to supply the food needs for the people of Batam. While Gimje government can learn Batam as an industrial city.

Cooperation between the two cities in different countries will be strengthened with the signing of a letter of intense Gimje in September 2011.

Both delegations agreed to make Gimje and Batam as a twin city to improve the economy in each city.
