Branch Chairman of Confederation of All Indonesian Workers Union of Karimun Regency, Hanis Jasni said the structuring of employment in free trade zone (FTZ) covering the enforcement of regulations governing the rights and obligations of workers and companies.
"Workers's rights such as payment of wages as applicable, overtime wages, benefits, welfare benefits and employment injury should must given by company. To realize the company's compliance, Free Trade Zone Concession Board should actively conduct oversight,'' he said.
Enforcement of the rules of employment, according to him also about surveillance and increased liability to the company workers.
According to him, the number of labor complaints and grievances related to non payment of wages as applicable, severance pay is not paid by the company as well as various other problems show that the supervision of the Free Trade Zone Concession Board is still low.
''We are worried about employment problems are not laid out early on, will affect the investment climate. Moreover, free trade zone continues to grow and investors are increasing rapidly. Do not let the riots occur as in other areas due to labor problems,''he said.
He expects the problem of employment in the area of free trade are no longer handled by Karimun Regency Government, but handled Concession FTZ Board has the authority as the entity in the region.
"Employees who are placed in FTZ must really master and expert in his field, including labor issues,'' he said.
